Kaly Soro
Project Manager
Biography
Kaly Soro is the Project Manager of Omega Sports Holding (OSH), she leads the company in organizing, managing, and marketing Omega’s events, while also overseeing the daily programming for merchandise, marketing and social responsibility initiatives for our assets.
Prior to joining the OSH team, she spent three years as the full-time assistant coach and program manager for the varsity women’s volleyball team at the University of Ottawa. She was in charge of position specific athlete development, academic and eligibility monitoring, amateur camps and had a cruical role in national and international recruiting for the program.
In 2020, Miss Soro co-founded the Black Student-Athlete Advocacy Council (BSAAC). A council dedicated to stopping anti-black racism, creating safe spaces and celebrating black and BIPOC culture on the Ottawa campus and city. Through galas, provincial grants and fundraising the council was able to create an ongoing scholarship fund for black student-athletes. It is currently one of the most successful anti-racism student councils being invited to speak at the OUA congress and the 2024 Black Student Athlete summit in Los Angeles.
Prior to 2020, she worked as the uOttawa High Performance Club coordinator. In this role, she oversaw 21 non-scholarship university teams. She reviewed yearly budgets, player eligibility, approved marketing and merchandise orders, helped with facility scheduling and end of year program reviews.
From 2013-2018, Miss Soro was a part of the uOttawa Gee-Gees women’s volleyball team. Named captain in her third year of playing, she was able to attend two national championships finishing in 7th and 5th place in Canada. She was named to the OUA All-Rookie team and was the youngest player to make the 2013 Canada Game’s Team Ontario roster. Returning to Côte Ivoire in 2023, she has made a significant impact on the Ivorian National Indoor and Beach Volleyball Team.
Beginning her athletic career in soccer, she attended the 2010 Youth Gothia World Cup, overall placing 5th out of 106 teams with a local canadian club.
Miss Soro holds an honors degree in communications and media studies from the University of Ottawa
